We know Jules Verne as the man from Amiens, but perhaps not so well as the man from Le Crotoy. From 1865 onwards, Jules Verne literally fell under the spell of the Baie de Somme, so much so that he rented a house and bought a boat there. It was on the Picardy shoreline that he notably wrote Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.
